Road Trip 73 Terminus San Bernardino > Los Angeles

“Ten discs, one Gremlin, and every station that once held the country together.” Segment 10 is the sound of arrival, the Pacific waiting just beyond the last track.  Segment 10 is the final descent into Los Angeles — the moment the radio becomes pure California. San Bernardino → Riverside → Pasadena → Los Angeles is where the dial shifts from Inland Empire AM gold to the full glow of KHJ Boss Radio, KMET freeform FM, KLOS album‑rock, and the last breath of Laurel Canyon. Road Trip Across America 73. (Segment 9) Flagstaff → Kingman → Barstow→ San Bernardino

Segment 9 is the moment the radio becomes California, even before the road does. Flagstaff’s mountain‑FM fades behind you, the Mojave heat rises, and the radio shifts into soft‑rock shimmer, AM gold, desert pop, and early Laurel Canyon drift.  The Gremlin crosses the invisible border between “the West” and “California dreaming.” Segment 9 has one of the strangest radio blends of the entire trip — part mountain‑FM, part desert AM gold, and part early‑bleed California. By the time you hit Barstow, you’re already hearing Los Angeles.
